He is survived by: his wife Mary Joyce Foster Hooks; his children, Donnie Hooks (Tracy) and Shelley Vickers (Dennis); his grandsons, Zachary Vickers (Hanna), Jon Vickers and Samuel Hooks (Amanda); his great grandchildren, Carman and Emery Hooks; and his brother Charlie Murray.
