Donald Wayne Mitchell Obituary
Donald "Don" Wayne Mitchell, age 82, passed from this life on Thursday, October 15, 2026 at NEA Baptist Memorial Hospital in Jonesboro, Arkansas. He was born to Wayne Mitchell and Inez (Burrow) Mitchell on June 1, 1944 in Jonesboro, Arkansas. He graduated in 1963 from Brookland High School in Brookland, Arkansas and shortly after was drafted into the United States Army in which he served two years in Korea.
Don was of the Baptist faith and a member of Clarks Chapel Baptist Church where he met and married his loving wife, Lisa, 30 years ago.
In his life's journey, he has been an electrician, a baker and an assistant manager for Walmart in Paragould, Arkansas for many years. He enjoyed fishing, watching St. Louis Cardinals baseball, old western movies and was a licensed pilot for many years, which was one of his greatest passions. He had been a member of the Paragould Pilots Association in his earlier days. He also enjoyed spending time with his family and friends.
He is survived by; his loving wife: Lisa Mitchell of Jonesboro; one son: Brandon Mitchell (Angela) of Orlando, Florida; one daughter: Christina Barker of Wayland, Michigan; two stepsons: Jared Timms (Iris) of Benton, Arkansas and Jason Timms of Jonesboro, Arkansas; four grandsons: Finneas Barker of Wayland, Michigan, Chayce Mitchell of Orlando, Florida, Jonas Mitchell of Orlando, Florida, Ryder Timms of Benton, Arkansas; two granddaughters: Izabell Timms of Benton, Arkansas and Violette Mitchell of Orlando, Florida; in addition, he has many other loving family including uncles, aunts, cousins, nieces, nephews, brother-in-laws and a sister-in-law.
Don was preceded in death by; his parents; one brother: Roy Mitchell; and two sisters: Susie Burnside and Nina Warren.
Funeral Services will be held on Thursday, October 22, 2026 at 11:00 a.m. at the Clarks Chapel Baptist Church (2180 AR Hwy 351 Paragould, Arkansas 72450) with Pastor Mark Harmon officiating. The family will receive visitors at the church from 10:00 a.m. until service time. Burial will immediately follow the service at the Clarks Chapel Cemetery next to the church under the direction of Faith Funeral Service.
