Hazel Lorrine Young Obituary

Hazel Lorrine Young, 87, of Paragould, Arkansas passed away on August 7, 2025 at Arkansas Methodist Medical Center. She was born on August 5, 1938 in Dixie, Arkansas to General Jack Johnston, Sr. and Lottie Velina (Canamore) Johnston. Hazel was a member of the Harlem Christian Church. She enjoyed gardening, planting flowers, going to the casino, and spending time with family.

Survivors include; three children: Dewayne Young, Jr. (Melinda) of Paragould, Arkansas, Kenneth Young of the home; Dorothy Delina Carmen (Jeff) of Loves Park, Illinois; several grandchildren; several great grandchildren; one great great granddaughter; one brother: Charles David Johnston of Paragould, Arkansas; several nieces and nephews; and a host of other family and friends.

She is preceded in death by; her husband: Millard Dewayne Young, Sr.; two sons: Willard Leo Young and Jerry Dewayne Young; sic brothers: Jerry Johnston, Jack Johnston, Jr., Leroy Johnston, Kenneth Johnston, Nathan Johnston, Robert Johnston; and two sisters: Alpha Flotard and Aldean Rhein.

The family has requested private arrangements under the direction of Faith Funeral Service.
