He was predeceased by: his parents, Clarence Dawson and Lola Dawson; and his siblings, Robert, Charles, Eugene, Cecil, Tilmon, Wilburn, Herman Dawson, Allene Miles, Mary Dawson, Josephine Wood, Bonnie Tinsley and Neva Anderson.
He is survived by: his wife Hazel; his children, Jeff Dawson (Bonnie), Kerry Dawson (Suzy), Stan Adams (Avis) and Valerie Nicholson (Andy); and his sisters, Melba Land (Ed), Marvine Tedder, Charlene Johnson and Sue Carter. He is also survived by eight grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren.
Visitation was held on Tuesday, July 8th 2025 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Mitchell Funeral Home (1520 US 49, Paragould, AR 72450). A funeral service was held on Wednesday, July 9th 2025 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the same location.
