He was predeceased by: the mother of his children Virginia Mexine Williams McDaniel. He is survived by: his siblings, Milton McDaniel and Audrey Norton McDaniel; his wife Gracie R. McDaniel; his children, Steven Douglas McDaniel (Lisa), Virginia Lee McDaniel Gist, Lee Ann Bergin (Johnny) and Roy Martin Walker (Cindy); his grandchildren, Jefferson Chase Holifield, Cole Douglas McDaniel, Brandi Michelle Gist, Caleb Steven McDaniel, Clifton Eric Overton Walker and Zachary Martin Overton Walker; his great grandchildren, Harrison Dean Holifield and Cora Ellen McDaniel; and his siblings, Eunice Jane Cothren (Frank) and John Leonard McDaniel. He is also survived by nieces, nephews and cousins.

The family requests that memorials be made to Shiloh United Methodist Church.
