He was predeceased by: his parents, Robert Mears and Melvina Mears; his siblings, Alline Thomason and Gene Mears; and his grandson Jimmy Alec Hudson.
He is survived by: his wife Brenda Mears; his children, Tracie Hudson (Jimmy), Shannon Walton (Steve) and Orlan "Keith" Mears; his sister Barbara Davis; his grandchildren, Jillian Betts, Aslyn Hudson, Brooke Mitchell, Bryce Mears, Nathan Gomer, Gabrielle Huyser, Dakota Hudson and Falyn Hudson; and his great grandchildren, Carley Hutcheson, Jasey Standley, Emma Hutcheson, Walker Standley, Lincoln Betts, Cali Gomer, Colton Mitchell, Ellie Gomer, Millie Gomer, Maverick Mears, Jasper Hammon and Willow Huyser.
