He was predeceased by: his parents, Ray Carter and Hazel Carter; his sisters, Almeria Gonser, Dorothy Campbell and JoAnn Rogers; and his granddaughter Chandler Mathes.
He is survived by: his wife Linda Carter; his daughters, Amy Hitt of Flagstaff, AZ, Summer Winstead (Jason) of Poughkeepsie, AR, Torre Austin (Terry) of Paragould, AR and Jordan Mathes (Neil) of Jonesboro, AR; his siblings, Timothy Carter (Marilyn) and Shirley Lamb; and his grandchildren, Gracie Sharp, Sunney Winstead, Abbigail Winstead, Carter Mathes, Cash Mathes, Bennett Austin, Simon Austin, Hayden Austin and Caroline Austin.
Visitation will be held on Friday, December 12th 2025 from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM at the Phillips Funeral Home (4904 W Kingshighway, Paragould, AR 72450). A funeral service will be held on Friday, December 12th 2025 at 1:00 PM at the same location.
Lasting memorials may be made to Crowley's Ridge Academy or the Children's Home.
