Velma Maxine Hendrix Obituary
It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Velma Maxine Hendrix of Paragould, Arkansas, born in Marmaduke, Arkansas, who passed away on April 14, 2022, at the age of 87, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her father Johnnie Smith; her husband Marion Hendrix (Fat); her son Daren Coward; and her sisters, Wandle West, Dorothy Kappleman and Wilma Jean Garza.
She is survived by: her children, Ron Coward of Paragould and Sheryl; her son-in-law Ken Wilson of St. Charles, Missouri; her grandchildren, Mike Hersman (Tamekia Smith), Chris Coward and Kirk Coward (Latoya); her brothers, Hollis Smith of Easley and Doyle Smith of Terre Haute, Indiana; and her sisters-in-law, Nancy and Elaine Smith.
She raised three children, helped at St. Jude Children's Research Hospital through donations, and donated to International Fellowship of Christians and Jews.
