He was loved and cherished by many people including: his brother Kenneth Askins; his wife Mary Cagle Askins; his children, Deanna, Lee (Scott) of Ratcliff, Janet Chronister (Ron) of Lavaca and Dewayne "Bubba" Askins (Leigh Ann) of Paris; his sister Hilda Valentine of Alma; his grandchildren, Brandon Lee, Chase Askins, Kylie Daniels, Devyn Chronister and Tara Willis; and his great grandchildren, Graham and Barrett.
