He was predeceased by: his parents, Horace Rice and Lillian Rice (Cooksey); his former wife Verna Sue Rice (Melton); and his siblings, Arlan, Garlan Rice, Sandy Rice, Velda Cooley and Orene Gattis.
He is survived by: his close friend Karen Turner; his children, David Rice (Karrie Kae McClure) of Paris, Dennis Rice of Lewiston, Idaho and Debbie Lovelace of Paris, Arkansas; his stepdaughters, Susan Spradlin (Jason) of Conway, Betsy Baker (Austin) of Little Rock and Summer DuMond (James) of Little Rock, Arkansas; his sisters, Freeda Brown of Booneville and Elsie Hanan of Russellville, Arkansas; his grandchildren, Alex Lovelace (Rylee Beth Pennington), Brodie Lovelace, Carrie Sue Thomas, Ashley Rice, Kayce Rice, Derek Rice, Tyler Turner, Zak Spradlin, Lance Spradlin, Hudson Baker, Beau DuMond and Weller DuMond; and his great grandchildren, Penelope Lovelace (Penny), Jennings Lovelace, Addy Rice and Kira Rice. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, other family members and friends.
