With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Jewel Maxine Jackson of Payneway, Arkansas, born in Bassett, Arkansas, who passed away on April 23, 2024 at the age of 97. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

As we bid farewell to this luminous soul, let her loved ones carry forward the torch of her memory, illuminating the path ahead with the warmth of her love and the brilliance of her spirit. Though Jewel Maxine may journey beyond the horizon of our sight, her essence remains woven into the very fabric of our being — a guiding light in the darkness, a beacon of hope in the night.

She was predeceased by : her parents, John Ezra and Nancy Elizabeth McCleer Catt; her husband C. H. Jackson; her daughter Linda Jackson Long; and her great great grandchild Brailyn Dawn Cahoon.

She is survived by : her children, Jackie Dewayne Jackson (Whitney), Shirley Watson, Ewel of Payneway and Carolyn Parrish of Payneway; and her sister Bessy Vines of West Memphis.

Visitation was held on Thursday, April 25th 2024 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Corners Chapel Baptist Church (6976 1st Ln, Trumann, AR 72472). A funeral service was held on Friday, April 26th 2024 at 10:00 AM at the same location. A burial was held on Friday, April 26th 2024 at the Marked Tree Cemetery.
