He was predeceased by: his parents, Charles Thomas Smith and Mildred Blanch Phillips Smith; his son Matthew Charles Smith; and his brother Donald Wayne Smith. He is survived by: his wife Donna Elaine Smith of Pettigrew; and his children, Christopher Don Smith (Felicia) of West Fork and Michelle Leigh Brannan (Matthew) of Elkins. He is also survived by three grandchildren and one great-granchild.

In lieu of flowers, the family requested memorials be made to Hope Cancer Resources, located at 5835 West Sunset Ave, Springdale, Arkansas.
