He was predeceased by: his parent Crowell Cox; and his brothers, Willie Cox and Tommy Cox. He is survived by: his wife Sharon Baker Hayes; his children, Nora Bell (Mark) of Alaska, Monti Olive (Jack) of Alaska and Jay Newton of Pine Bluff; his granddaughter Serena Bell; his sister Bettie Watson of Monticello; and his cousin Phil Funderburg of Warren. He is also survived by four great-grandchildren; two great-great grandchildren.
