Dokes; her grandchildren, Deanna "Toi" Reed, Michael L. Burks, LaKysha Chillers Dokes, Brodrick K. Monk and Sonya R. Dokes; her siblings, Freddie O'Hare, Jr., Callie Johnson, Lillian Johnson, Odie B. Johnson, Minnie Lee Johnson, Louis Johnson, Sr., Roscoe Johnson, Sr., Clance Johnson, Lillie Mae Johnson Taylor and Clayton Johnson, Jr.; her children-in-law, Benjamin H. Jones and Ella M. Dokes; and her siblings-in-law, Annie Mae Buchanan, Floretta Ashley, Dorothy Johnson, Henrietta "Penny" Johnson, George Buchanan and Daniel Taylor, Jr..
She is survived by: her children, George L. Dokes, Jr. of Pine Bluff, Leonard B. Dokes (Brenda) of Pine Bluff, Reginald W. Dokes of Pine Bluff, Clayton A. Dokes, Sr. (Angela) of Cedar Hill, Texas, Virginia M. Burks of St. Louis, Vanessa A. Thomas (James) of Pine Bluff, Relador S. Edwards (David, Sr.) of Pine Bluff, Vandora J. Demery (Michael, Sr.) of Pine Bluff, Yolanda E. Monk (Roosevelt, Jr.) of Pine Bluff and Wauketa L. Jones of Mansfield, Texas; and her sisters-in-law, Lillie Mae Johnson Vernon, Earnestine Johnson of Pine Bluff, Lorean Johnson of Gould and Ruthie Johnson of Detroit, Michigan. She is also survived by twenty-four grandchildren; thirty-seven great-grandchildren; thirty-one great-great grandchildren; four great-great-great grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
Viewing will be held on Friday, October 2nd 2026 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the New Home Missionary Baptist Church (3000 S Orange St, Pine Bluff, AR 71603). A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, October 3rd 2026 at 11:00 AM at the Old St. James M. B. Church (4512 S Ohio St, Pine Bluff, AR 71601). A burial will be held on Saturday, October 3rd 2026 at the Morris Chapel Cemetery (10900 Morris Chapel Rd, Sherrill, AR 72152).
