He was predeceased by: his parents, Rufus Avery and Josephine Avery; and his siblings, Jimmy Avery, Herbert Avery, Carl Avery, Edward Avery and Kathy Brown.
He is survived by: his son Gary Avery Jr. of Pine Bluff, Arkansas; his grandchildren, Tameka Avery-Green (Randy Green) of Mesquite and Jamisha Patrick of Pine Bluff; his son Jamareon Calloway of Pine Bluff Arkansas; and his brother Delma Avery (Gloria) of Pine Bluff, Arkansas.. He is also survived by 9 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren.
A memorial service was held on Saturday, October 24th 2026 at 12:00 PM at the Paradise Funeral Home (3705 W 6th Ave, Pine Bluff, AR 71601).
