She was predeceased by: her parents, William Thomas Cheairs and Lillie Mai Adams Cheairs; her sons, William Robert "Bob" Nixon and Jefferson Philip "Jeff" Nixon; and her siblings, Ann Cheairs Mead, Helen Cheairs Crockett and Tom Cheairs, Jr..
She is survived by: her children, Lyn Nixon Bayless (Monte) and Dr. David Nixon (Ann); her grandchildren, Jeff Bayless (Raychel), Tom Bayless, Jennifer Nixon Hubbard (Trent), Alice Ann Nixon McClure (Tim), Carol Nixon Ricketts (Brandon), Laura Nixon and Sally Nixon; her great grandchildren, Wesley, Betsy, Charlotte, Sarah Margaret McClure, Campbell, Baker Jane Bayless, Emma, Claire Ricketts and Zach Hubbard; her sister-in-law Bobbye Nixon; and also Pam Nixon. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
