It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Jerry Simmons of Pine Bluff, Arkansas, who passed away on September 14, 2022, at the age of 60, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parent Laverne Simmons; and his stepfather Jesse Boykin, Sr.. He is survived by: his mother Alberta Boykin (Crane); his former wife Idella Spiller; his children, Jherica Spiller Johnson of Dallas, TX., Kalanna Spiller of Dallas, TX., Nicandra Simmons of Dallas, TX., Trevon, Keontre (Becky), Jerry Simmons, Jr., Danielle and Asia Simmons (Tanya) of Pine Bluff, Arkansas.; his grandchildren, De'La Holmes and Delkedric Holmes; and his siblings, Jesse Boykin, Jr. (Kaye), Archie Boykins (Teresa), Anthony Boykin, Shunda Gentry, Tressa Walker, Shirley Simmons, Michelle Simmons, Reginald Matthews, Rodney Matthews and Wayne Simmons. He is also survived by aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
