He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, Ardelia Jones (Woolridge) and Hugh Briggs, Jr.; his stepfather Rev DonZell Jones; his grandparents, Elijah and Earselean Griggsby; his sisters, Linda Briggs and Mary Wynne; his wife Gloria Briggs (McElroy); his children, Tonya Sterling (David), Shamarro Young of Pine Bluff, Dominique Briggs and David Young of Pine Bluff, Arkansas; his siblings, Donald Jones of Tarry, Arkansas, Sue Smith, Everlene of Washington and Wanda Taylor (Daniel) of Pine Bluff, Arkansas; his grandchildren, JaQuan Dorsey of Kansas, Trynity Sterling and David Sterling Jr.; and his godson Calvin Curry (Cynthia Davis) of Oklahoma. He was also cherished by his family, especially his grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
