The passing of Maranda Buckingham Charles of Pine Bluff, Arkansas, born in Marianna, Arkansas leaves a void in the hearts of many, as we bid farewell to a loving soul who departed on July 12, 2025 at the age of 89. You can send your sympathy in the guestbook provided and share it with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Frank Morris and Anna Laura Buckingham; her husband Robert Burks; her son Curtis Burks; her siblings, Leo Buckingham, Daisy Kimbrough, Olar Ellington, Morris C. Buckingham and Alfred Buckingham; and her grandchildren, Gary Wiley, Terry Stocker, LaQuavis Thomas, Curtis Burks Jr. and Christopher Johnson.
She is survived by: her friend Bobby Rush; and her children, Willastine Turner (Samuel), Annette Sowers (John), Linda Braxton (Bobby), Pamela Kelly (Charles), Lesa Goodwin and Sandra Luckett (Thomas). She is also survived by 26 grandchildren, 37 great-grandchildren, 14 great- great grandchildren along with a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and dear friends.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, July 17th 2025 from 6:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Brown Funeral Home (2704 Commerce Cir, Pine Bluff, AR 71601). A funeral service will be held on Friday, July 18th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the First Missionary Baptist Church (4500 Faucett Rd, Pine Bluff, AR 71603).
