He is survived by: his wife Vonda Thomas Boykin; his children, David Boykin (Jennifer) and Deborah Jonio; his grandchildren, Ashley Herring (Blake), Hunter, Baleigh and Matthew Boykin; his great grandchild Braxton Herring; and his siblings, Kenneth Tate, Sue Tate, Ann Tate, Terry Tate, Donnie Tate and Bobbie Boykin. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
