He was predeceased by: his parents, Lawrence Wesley West and Mary Bell Ashcraft West; and his brothers, William Jackson West and Wesley Eugene West. He is survived by: his wife Loretta Sue Temple West; and his children, Kenneth "Kenny" West (Rachel) of Bismarck and Stacey West Paris (Billy) of Russellville. He is also survived by five grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.
