He was predeceased by: his parents, Ratford Bryant Cox and Nancy Angeline Posey Cox; his children, Sheilla Lewis and Clifton Cox; and his siblings, William, Jessie, Joe, Ira, Ratford, Margaret Hood and Barbara Tarkington.
He is survived by: his wife Mary Cox; his children, Jessie Cox, Tammy Baugh and Dempsie Cox; and his siblings, Debra Combs, Emily Jones and Omar Cox. He is also survived by eight grandchildren and nine great grandchildren.
