He was predeceased by : his parents, Edward Gaines and Effie Ring Gaines; his wife Laverne; his sister Kitty Logan; and his brothers-in-law, Bly Logan and Jerry Gill.
He is survived by : his family Portia; his children, Peggy Chadwick (Eddie) of Black Rock, Bill Gaines (Paula Weaver) of Paragould, Sandy Bristow (Danny) of Redwood and Michael Gaines (Karen) of Pea Ridge; his brother Harry; his sister-in-law Brenda Gaines of Arnold; his sister Shirley Gill of Walnut Ridge; and his grandchildren, Sharonda Medina (Victor), Chad Chadwick (Cindy), Jason Gaines (Whitney), Jenny Gilbert (Scott), Stefanie Hatcher (Nick), Danielle White (Gerry), Matthew Chadwick (Catelyn), Jamie Gaines and Brandie Gaines. He is also survived by 12 great grandchildren.
