She was predeceased by: her husband Elder Willis J. Polk; and her son Darius Ward. She is survived by: her daughter Tammial Grimes; her grandchildren, Tabitha Smith (Cameron Smith), Demetrius Polk (Aurelia Polk), Ta'Lonnie Grimes-Scaggs, Darius St. James and Giovanni Ward; her great grandchildren, Demetrius Polk Jr. and DeShon Smith; and her siblings, Juanita Jones, Lucinda Lockett, Monica Clark, Paul Grimes and Tom Grimes. She is also survived by nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
