He is survived by: his father Oscar Hopson; his wife Juanita Hopson of Prescott; his children, Curtis L. Hopson of Rialto, Herman P. Hopson of Prescott, Armin R. Hopson of Prescott, Samantha Webster (Derrick) of Beaumont and Lynette Hopson of Hope, Arkansas; his friend James Baker (Iliana); his grandchildren, Kandie Shelby (Kienan), Stephen Terry (Priscilla), Dequin Webster, Deshell Webster, Dejon Webster, Devonte Webster, Curlissa Hopson, Phyllisse Holly and Madison Baker; and his great grandchildren, Kameron Shelby, Kory Shelby, Billise Webster and Amelia Terry. He is also survived by other relatives and dear friends.

His contributions to the sport were later honored when he was inducted into the McRae Football Hall of Fame in 2011.
