He was predeceased by: his parents, Alton Ray and Elizabeth Garrett Murah; and his sister Mary Allie Johnson. He is survived by: his wife Evelyn Tackette Murrah of Prescott; his daughter Christi M. Johnson of Prescott; and his sisters, Marcia Schultz (Jimmy) of Hot Springs and Ann Flatte of The Villages, FL.
