He was predeceased by: his parents, Robert Patchell and Opal Hegwood Patchell; his son Ricky; and his siblings, Mary Ellen Williamson and Leslie McDaniel.

He is survived by: his wife Barbara Ann Patchell; his children, Kevin Patchell and Mark Patchell of Laura Powers; and his stepchildren, William Moore, Gene Ann Mason and Don Maxey. He is also survived by several grandchildren, step grandchildren and great-grandchildren and a host of family and friends.
