He was predeceased by : his parents, Lyle Refshauge and Darlene Refshauge; his grandparents, Donald, Malinda Diestler, Otto and Kate Refshauge; his aunts, Alice Vitacco and Agnes Sayles; his uncle Donald Diestler; and his siblings-in-law, Delores Shreve and Donald Hesse.

He is survived by : his wife Joyce Refshauge; his siblings, Janet Miltenberger (Joe) of Astoria, Oregon, Linda Refshauge of Iowa, Amy Refshauge of Springdale, Arkansas and Ted Refshauge of Cedar Falls, Iowa; and his nieces and nephews, Abbie Clemons (Philip) of Marion Iowa, Hannah Smith (Justin) of Vinton Iowa, Rebekah Penning of Iowa, Kevin Hesse Monte Ne and Mark Shreve of Waterloo Iowa. He is also survived by two great-nieces and three great-nephews.
