We announce the death of Shirley June Sawrie of Searcy, Arkansas, who passed away on September 20, 2026, at the age of 90. Shirley will be remembered by family members, friends, and others whose lives were connected in meaningful ways. She was predeceased by: her parents, Richard Cecil McKay and L. E. Spurlin McKay; her spouse Sidney Wayne Sawrie; her son-in-law Gary Bittle; and her siblings-in-law, Glenda McKay, James Sawrie (Jean) and Shelby Sawrie (Betty).
She is survived by: her children, Steve Sawrie (Norma Jean) of Ozark, Sheryl Baze (Patrick) of Hixson and Susan Bittle of Bald Knob; her grandchildren, Zach Baze (Jessica) of Hixson, Tracy Baze (Sarah) of London, Megan Sawrie of Searcy, Sheldon Sawrie (Francis) of Ozark and Caleb Sawrie; her great grandchildren, Amelia Baze, Corbin Baze, Bella Baze, Case Baze, Seth Sawrie and Emma Sawrie; and her brother Jerry McKay of Searcy. She is also survived by nieces, nephews, and a host of friends.
Visitation was held on Wednesday, September 23rd 2026 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the Mt. Bethel Free Will Baptist Church (5288 AR-36, Rose Bud, AR 72137). A funeral service was held on Wednesday, September 23rd 2026 at 11:00 AM at the same location.
