He was predeceased by: his parents, James Emmett and Betty Jane Reynolds Johnston. He is survived by: his wife Jan Duvall Johnston; his sons, Brad Johnston (Daina) of Springdale and Jamie Johnston (Christi) of Russellville; his grandchildren, Jace Johnston, Megan and Hannah Johnston; and his brother Mike Johnston of Oak Grove.

In lieu of flowers, memorials in his honor may be made to Oak Grove Free Will Baptist Church, P.O. Box 324, Atkins, AR, 72823.
