He was predeceased by: his parents, Eugene Samson and Laura Samson; his wife Mary Elizabeth "Liz" Samson; and his sister Peggy Joyce Privett. He is survived by: his children, Tammy McKellar (John) and John B. Samson Jr. (Bettina "Bet"); his grandchildren, Wendy Pitts (Floyd), Johnathan McKellar (Jamie), Misty Merchen (Justin) and Laura N. Samson; his great grandchildren, Collin, Alexis, Nathaniel, Kaylee, Zane, Jacob, Ethan, Dustin, Cody and Blake; and his great great grandchildren, Priscilla, Kooper and Keeva.
Visitation was held on Wednesday, September 9th 2026 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Russellville Family Funeral Chapel (2757 E Parkway Dr, Russellville, AR 72802). The military honors was held on Thursday, September 10th 2026 at 10:00 AM at the Hudson Cemetery.
