He was predeceased by: his parents, Billy Dan Watson and Paula Mae Knight; his stepfather D. W. Knight (Dorse Wayne); and his grandparents, Clifford, Eva Root, Homer and Annie Watson.

He is survived by: his wife Karen Watson; his son Andrew Watson (Marla); his siblings, Jim Watson (Edna) and Dana Kay Newsom (Kevin); his grandchildren, Ty and Julia Watson; his nieces and nephews, Lindsay Watson, Christina Anderson (John), Devin Langford and Drew Langford; and his great-nieces and great-nephews, Ethan, Cerra Cathryn, Brantley and Nora. He is also survived by his son, grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be sent to Soaring Wings, a Christ-centered home serving children who are in crisis through no fault of their own.
