It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Helen Leona Malzahn of Searcy, Arkansas, who passed away on October 29, 2025, at the age of 99, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Albert J. and Mary V. Amoe (Fischer); her stepfather Dr. George H. Scheer; her former husband Melvin H. Starck; her husband Charles F. Malzahn; and her great grandchild Nayley Matthes.
She is survived by: her children, Jeanne McGrigg (John) of Muskego, Barbara Woodbury (Jon) of Cornwall, VT, Charles Starck (Carole) of Manitowoc and Robin Starck (Shawn) of Searcy, AR; her grandchildren, Robert Sonntag, Christopher Sonntag, Krista Matthes (Michael), Justin Woodbury (Toniann), Charles D. Starck, Ben Starck (Monica), Ted Starck (Erin), Seth Starck and Aleea Starck; her great grandchildren, Alyssa Sonntag, Nathon Sonntag (Renna), Mackenzie Sonntag, Skyler Sonntag, Zane Matthes, Skylar Matthes, Tabitha Woodbury, Zoey Woodbury, Charles L. Starck and Hendrix Starck; her stepgreat-grandsons, Zachary and Jacob; and her great great grandchild Liam Sonntag.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, November 5th 2025 from 12:00 PM to 1:30 PM at the Olson Funeral Home & Cremation Service (1132 Superior Ave, Sheboygan, WI 53081). A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, November 5th 2025 at 1:30 PM at the same location.
Memorials may be made to the Ebenezer United Church of Christ in Helen's name.
