He is survived by: his wife Carolyn "Anita" Byars Higgins; his sons, John Daniel "Danny" (Suzanne) and Jack Patrick; his grandchildren, Christopher F. E. Higgins (Carriann) and Brianna S. K. Higgins Congdon (Thomas); his great grandchildren, Rose and Adonis; and his sister Joyce Higgins Kennedy Mays. He is also survived by father to his two sons.
