He was predeceased by: his parents, E. R. Fitzgerald and Amanda Ruth Edwards Fitzgerald; and his siblings, Ruth Bunch (Jack), Raymond Fitzgerald (Viola) and Dennis Fitzgerald.

He is survived by: his wife Penny Webb; his children, David Fitzgerald (Dawn Fiser), Lori Heller (Scott), Christy Wells (Mark), Autumn Henry (Brandon) and Kristin Daniel (Rob); his sister-in-law June Fitzgerald; and his grandchildren, Kara Wells, Christian Schumacher, Grayson, Addison Henry, Bryce and Charlotte Daniel.
