He was predeceased by: his mother Myrtle Viola Lea; his wife Janet Rose Fabel; his siblings, Sonny Erickson and Joan Snackenburg; and his daughter Jill Christine Fabel.
He is survived by: his children, Robert Dean Fabel of North Dakota, Randall J. Fabel of Louisiana, Liz Quirk of Minnesota, Nancy German of New York, Roberta McElvain of Pine Bluff, Kelly Bertrand of Hensley, Kathleen Joy Brewer of Sheridan and Kimberly Janel Romain of Louisiana; and his sister Jean Norby of Minnesota. He is also survived by 18 grandchildren; 30 great grandchildren; 1 great great grandchild and many extended family members and friends.
