He was predeceased by: his parents, James Albert and Ruth Belle Johnson (Babcox); his siblings, Robert, Cloy Johnson, Grover (Joy Faye Johnson), Bill (Eva Johnson), Bennie (Anna Johnson), Hazel (Bill Parker), Hester (Lloyd Turney), Maxine (Irvin Cullum) and Addie Mae (Roy Wood); and his brothers-in-law, Ted New and Dickie Bailey.
He is survived by: his wife Mildred "Millie" Johnson; his children, Nancy Zimmer (family: Janice, Ronnie Dupes, Tina, Jeff Pickett), Theresa and Joe Bowen; and his siblings, Willie Dale Johnson (Phyllis), Norma Ruth New and Linda Sue Bailey. He is also survived by six grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and several nieces, nephews, extended family members, and friends.
