She was predeceased by: her parents, Richard Lex and Hattie Berry (Ross); her husband Paul Compton; her son Richard Paul "Rick" Compton; her brothers, Claudie Sr., Cloy, Roy and Kenneth Berry; and her pet Sophie. She is also survived by many nieces, nephews, a large extended family.

Visitation will be held on Saturday, May 31st 2025 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the Roller McNutt Funeral Home Chapel (1902 Hwy 65 S, Clinton, AR 72031). A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, May 31st 2025 at 11:00 AM at the same location.
