He was predeceased by : his parents, Otis May and Virty May; his brother Steve; his sister-in-law Amy; and his father-in-law Mike Wilkins.

He is survived by : his wife Kathy Lynn Wilkins May; his daughters, Brooke May and Lauren Franks (Richard); his grandchildren, Sawyer and Charlee; his brothers, Joe May (Lou) and David May (Barbara); his mother-in-law Betty Wilkins; his sisters-in-law, Kim Wilkins and Donna Barnes (Johnny); his close friend Jack Keeling; and his uncle Sam. He is also survived by nieces and nephews, friends.

Memorials may be made to Riverside Bank in Sparkman for Sam's grandkids college fund.
