He is survived by: his wife Linda Bowers; his children, Ray Bowers (Tina) of Huntsville, Larry Bowers (Cindy) of Springdale, Alton Russell, Jr. (Tracey) of Lowell, Samantha Bowers of Springdale, Tina Stroud (Paul) of Springdale, Kathryn Loughery of Huntsville and Sharmi Smith (Billy Joe) of Huntsville; and his siblings, Jerry Bowers (Anita) of Springdale, Steve Bowers of Fayetteville, Danny Whelchel (Leah) of Japton, Kenton Whelchel (Carol) of Seattle, Washington and Joy Bowers of Wilmington. He is also survived by thirty five grandchildren and twenty seven great grandchildren.
