He was predeceased by : his father Bobby Lee Tankersley; his sister Denise Burks; and his grandparents, John, Ethel Slape, Bob and Mayo Tankersley.

He is survived by : his great grandchild Mike; his wife Esther Tankersley (Small); his sons, Michael Tankersley II (Tasha) of Siloam Springs and Zac Tankersley (Jennifer) of Rogers, Arkansas.; his mother Martha Clydean Tankersley (Slape) of Springdale, Arkansas.; his grandchildren, Michael James Tankersley III, Michaela Cooper (Lakin), McKenzie Peterson, Christian Peterson and Cayden Peterson; his great grandchildren, Jace Cooper and Kameron Cooper; his sisters, Judy Yeager (Randy) of Huntsville and Bobbie Mayo of Springdale; and his brother-in-law Robby Burke of Hindsville. He is also survived by family members and friends.
