He was predeceased by: his parents, Lynn Briggs and Faye Briggs. He is survived by: his wife Corrinnia Briggs; his daughter Caitlin Love; his granddaughters, Veda and Della Wren Krantz; and his sister Karen Sewejkis.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests a donation to the Fayetteville Public Library—or simply picking up a good book in Rick's memory.
