It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Geneva Mae Anders Shumake of Star City, Arkansas, born in Prescott, Arkansas, who passed away on April 16, 2024, at the age of 89, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by : her parents, William T. "Add" Anders and Vesta Anders; her spouse H. F. Shumake, Jr.; her grandson Cameron Harrison; her son-in-law Duke Rice; and her siblings, Tony Anders, James Lloyd Anders, Doris Hicks Schmall and Mildred Cantrell.

She is survived by : her children, Jerry Shumake (Alice), Gwen Dowdy (Billy) of Star City, Kathy Rice of Star City and Ginger Fowler (Merwin) of Star City; and her grandchildren, Steven Drake, Richard Shumake, April Shafer, Brian Harrison, Jaime Phillips, Justin Fowler, Lindsey Weast and Kerri Robinson. She is also survived by twenty great-grandchildren; two great great-grandchildren.

Visitation was held on Friday, April 19th 2024 from 12:00 PM to 2:00 PM at the Griffin Funeral Chapel (811 N Lincoln Ave, Star City, AR 71667). A funeral service was held on Friday, April 19th 2024 at 2:00 PM at the same location.
