He was predeceased by: his parents, Jim Thompson and Athie Thompson (Hampton); his wife Irba June Thompson (Gattis); his great grandchild Cooper Price; and his siblings, Norman Thompson, Doyne Dee Thompson, James Thompson, Osborn Thompson, Emma Sue, Mary Koch and Ruby Jewell Thompson.

He is survived by: his significant other Mary Smith of Fort Smith; his children, Teresa Hessler (J. Apple) of Subiaco, Keri Zimmer (Robert) of Corning, Jimbo Thompson (Lorene) of Subiaco, Brent Thompson (Sylvia) of Coal Hill and Buddy Thompson of Subiaco; his siblings, Herbert Thompson (Charlotte) of Little Rock, Harold "Wes" Thompson of Paris, Brenda Thompson of Russellville and Judy Thompson of Russellville; and his grandchildren, Samantha Schluterman, Olivia Schluterman, Tessa Carter (Corey), Jessica Williams (Eric), Loreli Mertin (Scott), Freddy Bartlett (Nikki), Alicia Thompson, Andy Thompson, Cody Thompson, Blake Zimmer, Katie Zimmer, Kylie Zimmer, Chelsie Brown (James), Gordon Tharp (Kayla) and Timothy Tharp. He is also survived by eighteen great grandchildren and many other family members and friends.
