He was predeceased by: his parents, Harry S. Thornton and Velma Keith Thornton; his sister Ferrell; his brother-in-law Roy Tubb; and his granddaughter Jaci Nicole Sanders.
He is survived by: his wife Dana Waters Thornton; his daughters, Cheryl Sanders (Greg) and Holly Archer (Shawn); his grandchildren, Dalton, Brody Crumpler, Blaine Sanders, Michael Archer, Abbey Archer Burroughs (Tatum) and Brooke Archer; and his great grandchildren, Ava Mae Archer and Willow Shyanne Sanders. He is also survived by nieces, nephews, and lifelong friends.
