He was predeceased by: his father Ronald Smith; his brother James Paul Smith; and his father-in-law Elgin Housley. He is survived by: his mother Pauline Collins; his wife Debbie Smith; his daughters, Heather Adney (Trent) and Laura Cummings (Chris); his siblings, Rhonda Wong, Scotty Joe Harmon and Anthony Lyn Smith; and his mother-in-law Yvonne Housley. He is also survived by 5 grandchildren.
