It is with great sadness that we announce the death of John Robert Nelms of Valley Springs, Arkansas, born in Ashville, Alabama, who passed away on July 25, 2023, at the age of 88, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, Roy Melton and Emmer "Trussie" Nelms; his children, Angela and Johnny; and his siblings, James, Elizabeth, Judy and Dorothy Sue.

He is survived by: his wife Thresa Nelms; his daughters, Jenny Nelms (Mike) and Trussie Rampley (Chris); his stepdaughter Tracie Bradshaw (Brandon); his sister Beatrice "Bea"; his grandchildren, Teddy Witker, Clarence Lee Stevens, Stephen Widmer and Haven Rampley; his stepgrandchildren, Dylan Bradshaw (Jessica), Bailey Bradshaw, Jayden Bradshaw and Grace Bradshaw; and his stepgreat-grandson Owen Bradshaw. He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, other family and friends.
