He was predeceased by: his parents, Bert McKown and Reba McKown (Lee); his wife Barbara McKown; his son Michael McKown; and his siblings, Jeanie Gentry, Joyce Jordan and Kenneth McKown.
He is survived by: his children, Cindy McKown, Bert McKown Jr. of Kansas City, Clay McKown of Van Buren, Eric McKown of Van Buren and Dustin McKown of Cabot; and his sister Teressa Burnett of Spiro. He is also survived by ten grandchildren, and four great-grandchildren.
