She was predeceased by: her parents, J. W. Smith and Faye Smith (Trusty); and her son Jerry Spessard. She is survived by: her children, Shirley Coyley, Lena Tate-Allen and Greg Spessard; and her sister Rebecca Fortner. She is also survived by twelve grandchildren, seventeen great-grandchildren, two great-great-grandchildren, and a step-grandson.
