He was predeceased by: his parents, Clarence Horton and Pauline Horton (Gipson); his son Michael Harris; and his siblings, Butch, Joe, Johnny Horton and Marceolla McCormick.

He is survived by: his children, Eddie Harris, Lyle Harris, Eric Harris and Charlotte; and his siblings, Essie Gates, Linda Carter and David Horton.
